Sweat Lodge Ceremonies

Marion offers an indispensable service to our community. She brings the ceremonies, traditions, and teachings of the Lakota people to us. She creates a wonderful space and land for very sacred work to happen, and she does all of this in a very humble way with an incredible amount of integrity.

This is a powerful healing experience and a wonderful expression of community!

Sacred Circle has no part in the planning of Marion's lodges, we offer the information here as a service to our community and to Marion. Please make sure to direct all questions and sign-ups directly to Marion at: spiritedgifts@verizon.net

What to Bring:
*Dry clothes to wear before and after the sweat
*Clothing to sweat in (which will keep you cool, but is still very modest- T-shirts, shorts, swim trunks, skirts, etc - No bikini tops, No bathing suits, short-shorts, or anything that is shiny/sparkly, if you wear a skirt please make sure to wear underwear under it, the Lakota way is a very modest way), a beach towel, bring something simple to share for the meal afterwards if you are able to.

*No jewelry or glasses in the lodge. There is a place outside the lodge to leave such items.

For All Women: Please do not enter the sweat lodge if you are on your moon (menstrual cycle) at that time. The general rule is to not enter until 24 hours after spotting stops.

Carpooling: Al and Adam from Sacred Circle often coordinate car-pooling if one of us is traveling up for the ceremony. Marion lives just over 2 hours from us and the carpools leave around 8:30am. If we get more than one car load then we split the group up and caravan up in a couple of cars.

If you are interested in carpooling please let Adam or Al know ASAP if you plan to come and if you need a ride or are able to provide a ride. Also let us know what town you are leaving from so we can pair the correct people together for carpooling.
