Mary’s training in massage
therapy was completed in 2003 at the Body, Mind, and Spirit Learning
Alliance and she has been working as a professional massage therapist
ever since. Mary works with Swedish massage, deep tissue massage,
reflexology, and acupressure. Prior
to her work as a massage therapist she spent 10 years working as a
personal trainer, which has given her a deeper understanding of how to
read the body. Her experience has also prepared her to give advice to
clients that they can take with them to make healthier changes in their
exercise and daily routines. Mary’s
primary goal as a healing arts practitioner is to hold a peaceful,
loving, and non-judgmental space so that each client can feel safe
enough to allow their personal healing to take place. She works to
empower each client and help them to see their own true divine essence.
This allows them to take back control of their life and create a life of
peace, harmony, and joy. |

During
a session Mary may incorporate various modalities in addition to massage
therapy. This is dependent on a client’s individual needs and may
include: Reiki, Angelic I.E.T., Reflexology, Qi Gong, Gemstone Healing,
Intuitive Guidance, or Aromatherapy. Mary
believes that healing truly begins when a client is ready for it on all
levels- mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. When trauma
occurs, whether on a physical or emotional level, it becomes trapped in
one or many of our energy bodies. This
is especially true if the trauma is too painful to be dealt with at that
time. This is why, so often, a tightness or pain in the body may be
temporarily relieved through massage or medication, only to return
later, and sometimes worse. Only by treating a condition from a more
holistic perspective can true healing happen, which is why Mary
incorporates other modalities with her massage work. The massage work
treats the body while other modalities help the spiritual, mental or
emotional aspect of the pain or distress. We
often use the term “healer” for simplification in this area of work.
Ideally, though, the healing comes from the client allowing the process
of healing to occur. If you are resistant toward something, you block it
from coming through. If you are skeptical toward something then your
mind is closed, thus blocking growth or understanding of it. So anyone
in the healing arts is ideally a facilitator for healing. It is up to
the client to take responsibility for his or her own life and allow the
transformation to begin. It is good to understand ahead of time that Mary always begins a session with the intention of working with a client’s spirit guides and angels to bring about what is best for the client’s highest good. So you may feel tension in one area, but Mary may be guided to work elsewhere on the body to release a deeper blockage that is at the root of that tension. Also, if emotions come up in a session, allow them to release. For it is through the releasing of these emotions that transformation can occur, creating a new space to be filled with pure love and pure joy. |
